CURRICULUM GUIDANCE ELG: hear and say initial and final sounds in words, and short vowel sounds within words NLS/WORD: identifying … initial and final phonemes in CVC words More ‘segmenting words’ activities The following activities offer the children further opportunities to explore the sounds that make up simple CVC words.
