SMALL TAZZA. The bowl is ornamented with twenty-eight flutes and with punched work. A gold plaquette, engraved with a coat-of-arms and the initials SIK, is mounted on the raised boss. Stem and foot decorated with fluting, nailheads and other renaissance ornament.

VAN DER BURCH Camelis van der Burch descended from a well-known family of Delft silversmiths. In 1579 he became an apprentice, in 1591 a master. He must therefore have been born between 1560 and 1570. He was an assayer in 1601, 1606, 1609 and 1614, dean of the guild in 1600 and 1605.
